
In 2003, the UK Government transcribed the End of Life Vehicles Directive (2000/53/EC) into UK law to cover England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The End of Life Vehicle Directive applies to all passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with up to nine seats and up to a total permissible weight of 3.5 tonnes.

Therefore, in line with the requirements of the EC End of Life Vehicle Directive, LDV owners are offered the opportunity to dispose of their vehicle at the end of its useful life, free of charge
Free take back is currently available for all vehicles regardless of age as from the 1st January 2007
As defined in the law, free take back will be offered provided:
LDV Group are keen to comply with these regulations and work in conjunction with Cartakeback.com Ltd to provide a network of ATFs where last owners or keepers can take back their LDV, Leyland, LeylandDAF, DAF or Freight Rover branded vehicles for free disposal.
These ATFs are licensed with the Environment Agency and will issue you with the Certificate of Destruction (COD) that you are required to have when disposing of a vehicle. This will confirm that environmental disposal has been correctly completed.
