Background to Electric MAXUS project
January / February 2009
LDV finalise strategic partners for the Electric MAXUS launch
Following the successful testing of the Electric MAXUS van (EVV1) and chassis cab (ECV1) with major fleets, LDV spent January and February finalising a small number of key partners to support the launch of these exciting new vehicles in the second half of 2009.
Built in Birmingham, the Electric MAXUS vehicles will offer UK businesses, councils and local authorities the opportunity to locally source a zero emission light commercial vehicle to minimise their carbon footprint.
The launch offers the strategic partners the chance to be the first customers to realise the benefits of operating the electric vehicles, participate in the development of future models and share in the launch publicity of these revolutionary vehicles.
December 2008
LDV short-listed for DfT low carbon programme.
LDV has become one of only five companies to be successfully short listed on the DfT low carbon initiative to supply electric vehicles to councils and local authorities from 2009..
November 2008

MAXUS EVV1 Electric Van Prototype starts testing
LDV is pleased to announce that the Electric MAXUS van (EVV1) prototype has entered testing with key fleets on plan. The EVV1 van is the second electric model to enter testing, following hot on the heels of the electric chassis (ECV1) that was given its world premiere at the Hannover show.
September 2008
World Premiere of the Electric MAXUS
GAZ Group will use the 2008 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover for the world premier of the very first Electric MAXUS.
The fully driveable MAXUS ECV1 (Electric Chassis Vehicle) previewed at the Hannover show is currently on test with key customers. The ECV1 boasts excellent payload, a short battery recharge time and ultra simple maintenance. The vehicle has been designed so that diesel drivers within large fleets will notice little difference between their existing vehicle and the new electric MAXUS
